Machu Picchu

We are standing at the original entrance to Machu Picchu, which was once fortified by a locked and barracaded wooden door that could be opened only from the inside. But for us, as the other large swarms of tourists, the gate is wide open, except for the large knots of people who gather around it to see where the wooden barracade door was once positioned.

So good to see a picture of you! Glad you have resurrected your blog! I gave up on you a little over a month ago and just thought you would have to email me! Love the pictures. Mom is probably in awe of all your travels and our mission - how she loved to travel and didn't get in all she would have liked!
